The beginning is the most important part of the work. – Plato
This is just one of my two blogs. The other one is mostly about writing, this one is mostly about photos.
I got my camera in the fall of 2010 when I officially became an “empty nester” (that truly makes one feel old, just sayin’). I have literally taken thousands of photos and sometimes, not always, there’s a story. Perhaps not a funny story, or maybe not even an interesting story, but a story.
So, putting together my love of photography and writing, I thought to create a photo blog. Like my photography, I am learning about this blog by trial and error and hopefully it will improve as I learn more.
I have used many photos to make cards for people on a variety of occasions. That brings together two other loves – photography and crafts.
My son, Kyle, came up with the name (mom)ents. The blog/website serves a few purposes: a place to send family and friends to look at photos and to document my photography so I can reflect and improve.
2012 will hopefully be a year where I can spend more time on technique and the technical aspects, as long as that does not interfere with the joy I get from taking pictures!
I hope that people enjoy what they see. Because it’s not what you see, but how you look at it.
