Replaying a moment

A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to go hang out with my daughter in Vancouver for a long weekend. As has always been her nature, the weekend was jam-packed with activities and friends and school….but we did take a moment to watch the sunset.

Had a wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving with my girl and her West Coast family of friends. First time ever that I cooked Thanksgiving dinner – split between the vegetarians and the turkey lovers….it was amazing.

A beautiful university student style Thanksgiving table!

We had a long, amazingly beautiful hike – with this breathtaking view as a reward

So long to summer…vacation

It is that time of year again, when my many weeks of summer break are ending. This photo was actually taken in March, 2012, not at the end of summer, but it is one of my favourite sunset shots.

This photo originally showed up here, when I had returned from visiting my daughter in Vancouver. She has found another home, although she has never said goodbye to this one. How wonderful it is to have more than one place to which you belong!

Being a parent is an amazing journey which moves you through the days and years at a speed that is astounding. Where you are headed can sometimes be unknown, but I have come to discover that the purpose of the journey is truly about helping and guiding your children to find their place in the world, wherever it may be.
