Sadly, I had to take this shot with my Blackberry. I have set a goal of taking shots using whatever I have handy to work on composition until my camera is repaired. Admittedly, I did not achieve the ideal composition here. I wanted to get a lot of the flowers with a touch of an oil refinery in the background (slight bit of a smokestack on the right). I saw these flowers as I was cycling this morning and it struck me how it was a bit like beauty and the beast – the beautiful flowers with the backdrop of the refinery.

I think you have set yourself a challenge, it sounds like a great idea. I take photos with my phone all the time, I have another blog that I occasionally put them up on. It is an interesting thing to do. I am looking forward to seeing what you do.

I also have my point and shoot and it surprised me this weekend with its ability to capture some shots effectively. Missing the macro lens though!
